\\ DETAILSA community story, translated into something that can be seen every day.
Cultural artwork only works if the right people are in the room before a single mark is made. For Stanwell Park Tennis Club, that meant two community consultation sessions, one with local Aboriginal community members, one with the broader Stanwell Park community, listening to the stories, histories, and connections that make this place what it is.
The artwork that came from those sessions is a culmination of it all. Past and present. The Wodi Wodi track, the mountains, the local flora and fauna, not as decoration, but as a reflection of the people and the Country that have shaped this community and continue to shape it.
Having a physical artwork on display in a local neighbouring community means something beyond the work itself. Its presence. It's permanence. It's a reminder that listening before creating isn't just the right approach, it's what makes something worth keeping.
